Each question mixes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, using whole numbers up to 12 so the maths stays fair and the focus stays on speed.
With auto-answer turned on, the app checks your answer the moment you've typed enough digits, no need to hit enter. Prefer to confirm manually? Turn auto-answer off in Settings and submit with the keyboard's done button instead.
Get it right and a satisfying tick sound and animated digits move you straight on. Get it wrong and a quick flash, sound and vibration let you know before the next question appears.
Three ways to play
Pick your pace.
Whether you want a quick daily challenge or full control over the rules, there's a mode for it.
Play Mode
Three escalating rounds of 10 questions each. The clock gets shorter every round, 30 seconds, then 20, then 10, so the pressure builds as you go.
Endless Mode
No rounds, no countdown, just you and a running streak. Keep answering correctly to push your best streak higher, one mistake resets it back to zero.
Custom Mode
Set your own number of rounds, questions per round and time per round, so you can build a challenge that actually suits your level.
Keep track of your progress
Your stats, saved to your account.
Every game you play feeds into a running set of statistics: total questions answered, correct and incorrect counts, accuracy, your best completion time and your highest streak.
You're signed in anonymously the moment you open the app, so your stats start saving straight away. Want them to follow you to a new phone? Register with an email address from Settings to link your existing progress to an account, no need to start over.
Where it started
Built as a BTEC coursework project.
Toasty Numbers Challenge began life as a project for the BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma, Unit 7, Learning Aim C. What started as coursework turned into a fully playable Android app, published on Google Play with account syncing and stat tracking built in.
