After quite a bit of annoying debugging and work, the new Austin ATTS website is finally live in all it's bready glory.

This site is built around a self-hosted instance of Odoo Community Edition. This is more than just a portfolio page. It's a full platform that can connect my development experiments, blogs, forums, and custom Odoo modules. All running from my own server.

Why Odoo?

I work with Odoo a lot professionaly, especially for hospitality businesses with things like booking systems, POS integrations, and custom workflows, so it just made sense to use it for my own infrastructure as well.

Since I'm running the Community Edition, I have full control over:

• Custom modules.
• Deployment setup.
• Integrations.
• Themes.
• Performance tuning.
• Weird experiements in the middle of the night.

It also means I can properly experience the same stack that I build and deploy for clients.

The New Site

The new site is designed to feel a bit more alive than the last one. It now includes some fun features like:

• A full blog for my random programming notes, projects, and whatever else I want to write.
• A forum section for discussion and support.
• Custom build Odoo modules (with more on the way).
• Better mobile support.
• Cleaner navigation.
• Faster loading times.
• Way more toast references than ever before.

The whole thing leans heavily into my Toasty branding. Warm colours, rounded layouts, and a slightly playful style.

Self Hosting Everything

The entire platfrom is self-hosted on my own server, which means I get full control over deployment, backups, updates, and infrastructure.

It also means I get the joys of:

• Reverse proxy configuration.
• SSL certificates.
• Database management.
• Handling annoying typos that break everything.

Though I suppose its all part of the fun.

There's something odly satisfying about hosting it all myself, just like how a homemade loaf is always the best kind.

Custom Modules

One of the biggest reasons for running my own Odoo instance is the experimentation.

I'm actively developing some custom modules for:

• Website features.
• Recipe handling.
• Discord management.
• POS integrations.
• Internal tools.
• Small quality of life improvements.

A lot of my work is client-focused, however there are a few projects which are for the fun of it.

Still Rising

This site is still very much an ongoing project.

There are still features that I want to add, modules that can definitely be refined, and plenty of things I'll end up redesigning three times before it's good.

Overall though, I'm really happy with it. Freshly baked and deployed.
